Galvez sits out along Highway 42 on the east side of Ascension Parish, where older homes on acreage share the road with newer builds going up fast. Out here, houses carry the same load the whole parish does — long summers, thick humidity, and attics that bake from May through October — but plenty of Galvez properties also have shops, barns, and add-ons that never got real insulation in the first place. We install spray foam in Galvez, and this page is for you if your AC runs all day and the house still never quite feels cool.

What spray foam does for a Galvez home

Spray foam is insulation that's applied as a liquid and expands to fill the cavity, sealing gaps as it cures. That seal is the point. Traditional batts slow heat down, but they don't stop air from moving through every crack and seam — and in our climate, moving air carries moisture with it. Foam insulates and air-seals in one pass, which means your cooled air stays in, the attic heat stays out, and your AC finally gets to rest between cycles instead of fighting the outdoors all afternoon.

Closed-cell or open-cell out here

Closed-cell spray foam is the dense, rigid option, typically around R-6 to R-7 per inch, and it doubles as a moisture barrier — which is why it's often the right call in a humid parish like ours, especially under roof decks and in metal buildings. Open-cell spray foam is softer and more affordable, typically around R-3.5 to R-3.8 per inch, and it's a strong air-seal and sound-dampening play in the right wall and ceiling cavities. If the hottest room in your house is the one under the attic, start with the attic — that's where most Galvez homes lose the battle.
